Its advent killed away all the other web RSS readers, and some non-web ones; would be a sad day if it goes away.

@grishma: They could've launched with the current brand name - Google +1 - and replaced the Google Reader "like" feature with it. Right now there are two social recommendation counts in the Google ecosystem - Google +1's and Google Reader likes - with the latter not available publicly as a widget.
