We broke the screens in separate screens because there are validations on every step.

For example time can't be in the past, needs to be at least 30 mins from now and cannot be for more than 24 hrs away. Then, based on city the areas are fetched, based on the area, sub-areas are fetched. And in general, feels a little weird to ask for the full pickup address after asking for both the pickup and drop locations. There is room for confusion.

If we combine all the fields on the same screen, I think it could create frustration if all fields are incorrect and need to be corrected. Moreover all validations and searches will have to run at the same time thus increasing the response time as well. Though, the idea is interesting and can be validated now that we have some data to crunch and get stats on usage.

We are already considering combining the area and sub-area fields if it can be done in a meaningful way. Your ideas also have merit and we'll definitely consider them with greater thought.

And no, all mobile bookings are not from existing web users. This is because Meru is pushing mobile bookings on their IVR system before the web bookings.

We've designed this for phone browsers with no JS, hence we cannot use AJAX. There are many places where we need to get some data from the server before we can populate the next field. That's where we've broken into a new screen.
